We'll be doing a series of hikes this summer. Most of them will be moderate level hikes with some elevation gain. The hiking pace is moderate and allows for easy conversation with your hiking companions. Excited to play in the mountains with you!
Triple Tree is an easy to moderate hike with beautiful colors in the fall. We will start at the trailhead off of Limestone Meadows Lane. The elevation gain will be around 800 feet and the trail is 4.5 miles roundtrip.
For those that are interested, we'll head to The Breakroom by campus after the hike. If you’re hungry, you can order Columbos Pizza next door and they will deliver it to your table at The Breakroom.
*Note - The parking lot for the main start of Triple Tree is off or Sourdough. However, we are going to link up to the trail off of Limestone Meadows Ln so it will be best to park on the street on Limestone Meadows Ln. See full directions below.
What to bring:
I recommend wearing a backpack/camelback ideally with a waist strap to take the pressure off your shoulders. Some people just carry a water bottle for this hike but here are other items you may want to consider bringing: Plenty of water, snacks, layers/rain jacket, baseball cap, sun glasses, bug spray, bear spray and comfortable, broken in hiking/walking shoes.
Note - If you're new to the area and haven't done much hiking yet, please know that our air is thinner here which makes hiking a little more difficult. Make sure you acclimate to the area before joining us for any moderate level hikes. Message with any questions/concerns on whether this might be the right event for you.
Directions:
From downtown Bozeman, head west on W. Babcock St., then turn right onto S. Church Ave. and continue straight onto Sourdough Rd. About 3 miles after crossing Kagy Blvd, look for Triple Tree Rd/Ln and turn left. Turn right on Limestone Meadows Ln and park accordingly on that street. We will connect at the trail just off of Limestone Meadows Ln. Note - If you reach the signed parking lot off or Sourdough on the left just after the entrance to Triple Tree subdivision, you have gone too far. Leave the parking lot, take a right back on Sourdough and take your first right onto Triple Tree Rd/Ln.
