We'll be doing a series of hikes this summer. Most of them will be moderate level hikes with some elevation gain. Excited to play in the mountains with you!
This moderate hike will be a 4 mile roundtrip hike to the first overlook on Sypes Canyon Trail. The elevation gain will be 1000 feet. We will have a little picnic at the overlook (about 2 miles in) before turning around to hike back out.
What to bring:
I recommend wearing a backpack/camelback ideally with a waist strap to take the pressure off your shoulders. Bring plenty of water, snacks, layers/rain jacket, baseball cap, sun glasses, bug spray, bear spray and comfortable, broken in hiking/walking shoes.
For the picnic, bring a snack to share with serving utensil if needed and your own plate & spork. Comment below what you're planning to bring or to get ideas.
Note - You will be responsible for hiking in with whatever you bring so make sure it's not too heavy/messy. ;-) Also, if you're new to the area and haven't done much hiking yet, please know that our air is thinner here which makes hiking a little more difficult. Make sure you acclimate to the area before joining us for any moderate level hikes. Message with any questions/concerns on whether this might be the right event for you.
